Reminders and News
Starting soon, we will be going to the computer lab once a week to work on this website. One of our newest labs has new computers that require ear buds. FCAT Explorer is a site that has sound during the lessons. If you could please provide your child with a set of ear buds for
school use, it will be most helpful. Thanks so much.
You can also work on FCATexplorer.com at home. I recommend 30 - 60 minutes once a week on this website. Please supervise when you child is on the
website to ensure that they are benefiting from it. I have access to review all students' work on the website and can print reports of how they are doing. Some of these reports may be sent home so that you can also view
how your child is performing in the program. I have explained to students that they can record minutes spent on FCAT Explorer in their Weekly Reading Logs.
Florida Focus is also a companion site to FCAT
Explorer with additional subject areas, activities, and assessments. Each mini assessment provides a set of valid, FCAT-like questions, plus a set of five parallel items for re-testing. Here you will find mini assessments for all math benchmarks and reading skills for grades 3-10. The website for Florida Focus is,
The student will use their FCAT Explorer sign-in and password.
Before the Thanksgiving break, each student set a new reading and math goal. Talk to your child about what their goals are and what their plan is to accomplish it.
We will be having a class Winter Celebration on December 16th at 12:00 P.M. Students will be doing craft and game rotations. Because of limited space for crafts and movements, families are not invited to attend. However, we do need many parent volunteers for the stations. It would be ideal to have two volunteers per station. If you cannot attend but would like to help, check out the sign-up link for items that we need!

The good news is more students than before are in November's A.R. Club! Students are reading chapter books and taking A.R. quizzes. I am encouraging students to read chapter books on, or around, their reading level.
December and January (because of winter vacation) will be combined for the next Homework Club. Students must turn homework that is complete and on time for December AND January. The monthly A.R. club will remain the same. There will be a separate December and January A.R. Club.
